Since 2002, Wealth and Wellness Journey, Inc., has helped clients lead healthier and happy lives through integrative health consultation. The company works with clients to develop a health recovery plan by identifying underlying core reasons for body imbalances (whether physical, mental or emotional). Recovery plans incorporate new wellness methods, offering hope and results currently not obtained through traditional medical practices.

Founder Elaine Connelly, a registered nurse, had built her part-time business over the years while continuing to work as the chief nursing officer at a Cleveland-area hospital. She left the hospital in 2013 to devote more time to her business. She wanted to introduce her unique offering of alternative health and wellness modalities, which are based on energy medicine, to a wider audience. She offers techniques, therapy services and nutritional support that can help correct the core reasons for body imbalances.

Create an Identity

Elaine’s goal was to build a cohesive, eye-catching corporate identity, and create a website and branding materials that would reflect the distinctive identity of her company. She also wanted to visually depict the emotional feeling clients have after working with her. “The feeling of freedom, love, peace, joy and happiness for life itself,” said Elaine.




Because the practice of integrative health consultation is relatively unknown, the company identity and marketing materials would need to educate prospects on the services provided while helping Wealth and Wellness Journey stand apart from more traditional Western medicine.

Elaine and The Design Edge teamed up in 2014. The Design Edge worked with her to thoroughly understand her business and the market she was targeting. The Design Edge first created a visually appealing logo and business card to establish her company’s identity. The creative services firm then developed a series of print ads that ran in local publications and an online presence with a comprehensive responsive website using the latest search engine optimization (SEO) techniques to attract new prospects.














Steady Growth

The result has been 9- to 12-percent growth each year since 2015, growing a total of 30 percent in three years, which is well above the average growth rate for small businesses. Elaine expects her business to grow an additional 10 percent in 2018.

Elaine is no longer scrambling to bring in new clients. They are coming to her, which is a reversal of where her business was in 2014. With a professional identity and easy-to-navigate website, it’s much easier for satisfied clients to make referrals, which now account for most of her growth.
